But please follow our guidance and rules

Guidelines for you and your dog

We love dogs! But here a few points you may find useful if you are bringing your dog to Enfield House, Hawkings Hideaway or Tumbledown Barn. Please note Keepers Lodge is a dog free property.

1: We do supply dog bowls, a dog towel, dog bed and treats for their  stay.
2: Please do not use the throws provided in the lounge and bedrooms as dog blankets. If your dog likes to sit on a blanket then please bring your own.
3: Dogs are not permitted on any furniture, beds chairs or sofas. We also do not allow dogs upstairs.
4: During your stay and before you check out please check the garden for any dog poop and dispose  accordingly.
5: Dogs are not permitted to be left in the property on there own at any time. This is not only to prevent dogs from making a mess or damaging the property but we find some dogs can get anxious if left alone in a property they are not use to.
6. If your dog is likely to shed its fur it is your responsibility to clean up after your dog and leave the property as you found it.

The points above are aimed at helping you during your stay with us. If the guidelines above are not followed we reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning and any damage.

Some countryside guidance

  • Dogs should be on leads at all times outside of the property (excluding the garden). There are working farms next to our property’s and sheep and cattle are moved frequently. Cattle are also allowed to wildly roam on Knowstone Moor so please be careful.
  • Local pathways and rights of ways often pass through farmers fields. Our local farmers are generally a friendly bunch however this can soon change if your dog is not on a lead when walking through there fields. Every year in Devon we see cases of sheep being bothered and even killed by dogs not on a lead, please make sure you respect the countryside and local rules.
  • Please clear up after your dog. Dog bags are provided and please put these into the grey wheelie bin to the front of the property.

Well behaved (and not so well behaved) dogs are welcome at Enfield House, Hawkings Hideaway and Tumbledown Barn but not at Keepers Lodge. An additional charge of £25.00 per week per dog (max number of dogs will depend on each property, please check when booking). We ask that you clear up after your dog and that they are not left alone in the property at any time or allowed on beds or furniture.
